Super Lawyers (www.superlawyers.com) is a listing of outstanding lawyers from more than 60 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement and who are chosen by peers and through independent research. Rising Stars recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state -- those who are 40 years old or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.

The objective of the Super Lawyers selection process is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource to assist attorneys and sophisticated consumers in the search for legal counsel. Polling, research and selection are performed by Law & Politics, a publication of Key Professional Media, Inc. Law & Politics has been publishing legal magazines since 1990 and Super Lawyers since 1991. Law & Politics strictly adheres to a rigorous selection process directed at casting as wide a net as possible, evaluating quality in the most objective possible terms and verifying and validating all data. The only way a lawyer can be listed is through this selection process.

Super Lawyers is published as a special supplement in leading newspapers and city and regional magazines across the country. Super Lawyers magazine, featuring articles about attorneys named to the Super Lawyers list, is distributed to all attorneys in the state or region, the lead corporate counsel of Russell 3000 companies and the ABA-approved law school libraries. The 2009 Maryland Super Lawyers feature supplement appears in the January 2009 issue of Baltimore Magazine.
